Sesame is one of the earliest oleaginous plants cultivated by man.
Symbol of immortality in Hindu legends, sesame nourishes the brain thanks to its high levels of phosphorous and magnesium. It is also rich in calcium and selenium.
After being lightly roasted, the seeds are then ground and packaged. The roasting process does not change the level of unsaturated fat.
The whole sesame puree consists of 50% white sesame and 50% whole sesame, since 100% whole sesame is difficult to digest.
The sesame seeds are carefully husked using a unique process, with no chemical additives.
Uses: >b>The sesame puree is mainly used in cooking, diluted with a little water. It may also be used as a spread on its own, or mixed with some honey.
Recipe Idea:Houmous Soak 300g chick peas overnight, then cook them with a piece of kombu algae for an hour. Combine the chick peas, 2 tablespoons sesame puree, 4 cloves of garlic (crushed), salt and the juice of 2 lemons. Add water to achieve the desired consistency.
